Their experience and knowledge will provide valuable, real-world insight into the problems individual directors and their boards face.   Maxine Clark is the Founder and CEO of publicly traded Build-a-Bear Workshop. She also serves on the corporate boards of the JC Penney Company, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University in St. Louis and the International Councilof Shopping Centers. Arnold W.Donald is Chairman and CEO of Merisant Company. In 1998, he was appointed to serve on the President’s Export Council for International Trade. He serves on the boards of Carleton College, Carnival Corporation, The Scotts Company and The Laclede Group. Karen Pletz is President and CEO of the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She is past chairman of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and serves on the boards of Kansas City Southern, Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, Midwest Research Institute, Rockhurst University, the Center for Practical Bioethics and Commerce Bank, N.A. Michael Chesser is Chairman and CEO of Great Plains Energy. He serves on several boards including Heart of America United Way, Partnership for Children, the Edison Electric Institute, and the Electric Power Research Institute.
